The Atlantic City Bureau
of Vital Statistics has on file every birth, death, marriage, domestic partnership, civil union event
occurring here in the City of Atlantic City. The office has the following records available and on file:
- Birth
records beginning with the year 1903 thru present
- marriage and death records
beginning with the year 1921 thru present
- domestic partnershipss and civil unions begining with the year 2005 thru present

Fees
The
fee for each certified birth, marriage, death domestic partnership and
civil union certificate ordered by mail or in person is $6.00.
Photo identification is REQUIRED
Marriage Licenses/Civil Union License
New
Jersey residents must apply for a license in the municipality where
either the bride, groom, or civil union partner lives.
Non-Residents
who wish to have their ceremony in New Jersey must apply in the
municipality where the ceremony is to take place. The application
fee is $28.00.
When should you apply for your marriage license?
Within 30 days of the ceremony and then there is a 72-hour waiting period after submitting the application.
What should you bring when you apply?
- One Witness
- Proof of residence
- Photo identification
- The legal marriage or civil union age in New Jersey is 18
- At time of application the following documents may be requested:
- Proof of age
- Social Security Card
- Divorce Decree
