The Atlantic City Bureau
of Vital Statistics has on file every birth, death and marriage event
occurring here in the City of Atlantic City. Birth
records beginning with the year 1903, marriage and death records
beginning with the year 1921 thru the present are on file.
Earlier records are filed in Trenton, N.J.

Fees
The fee for each certified birth, marriage, death and civil union certificate ordered by mail or in person is $6.00.
Photo identification is REQUIRED
Marriage Licenses
New Jersey residents must apply for a license in the municipality where the bride lives. Residents who live in some other state and want to be married in New Jersey must apply in the municipality where the ceremony will take place.
When should you apply for your marriage license?
Within 30 days of the ceremony and then there is a 3-day waiting period
What should you bring when you apply?
- One Witness
- Proof of residence
- Photo identification
- Social security card
- Divorce decree
- Proof of age
- The legal marriage or civil union age in New Jersey is 18
- Written parental consent is required for ALL applicants under age 18!

For all applicants age twenty-five (25) or younger, you are required to provide your birth certificate.
At the present time no blood test is required.
