William 'Speedy' Marsh
William H. Marsh serves the citizens of Atlantic City as Fourth Ward
Councilmember, a position he was elected to in 2002. In September of
2006, Councilman Marsh was named President of City Council.
Since
1999, Councilman Marsh has been employed by the Pleasantville Public
School System as the Coordinator of Supportive Services, where he is
responsible for the supervision of the school district’s Custodial,
Maintenance, Transportation and Security Departments.
For almost 20 years, Councilman Marsh was the Coordinator of
Adult and Community Education for the Atlantic City Board of
Education. Additionally, he was a Youth Counselor and remains
involved with local youth through his involvement in various community
groups.
The President of the Atlantic City Branch of the NAACP, Councilman
Marsh is also affiliated with the Police Athletic League of Atlantic
City, St. James AME Church, Venice Park Civic Association, Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity, and the Pleasantville Youth and Family Conference.
A 1972 graduate of Atlantic City High School, Councilman Marsh received
his BS Degree from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North
Carolina in 1977, and in 1997, he received his Graduate Masters Degree
in Education Administration from Cheyney University in Cheyney,
Pennsylvania.
Councilman Marsh resides in the Venice Park section of Atlantic City with his wife, Bennye’ and their son, Christoper.
