HIV Prevention Services:
Atlantic City provides HIV counseling and testing services as well as
case management and risk reduction classes. HIV testing is
available in Atlantic City free of charge five days a week. The
HIV rapid test is utilized which gives a test result in 20
minutes. An oral swab is used and the test is non-invasive.
These services are located at 1325 Baltic Avenue in Atlantic City.
Outreach testing is provided at various locations in
Atlantic City by the Dr. James Hicks Health Mobile. The rapid
test if offered on the Health Mobile which is available for screenings
to community and civic groups, churches, etc.
In addition to testing, prevention case management
or counseling is offered to African-American women and persons who are
HIV positive. These services are offered in city hall by
certified case managers. Also risk reduction classes are offered
at the city’s Police Athletic League building.
Educational presentations on HIV/AIDS are given upon
request to community groups, civic associations, and professional
groups. Pamphlets and literature are available to individuals or

WIC Program (Women, Infants & Children):
WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and
Children. WIC provides nutritious foods, nutrition counseling,
health care referrals and breastfeeding support at no cost.
You May qualify for WIC benefits if you are:
- Pregnant (or recently pregnant)
- A Breastfeeding Mother (up to 1 year)
- An Infant or Child under 5 years old
- And you have a nutritional need
- And you meet the income guidelines, even if you work, or you receive Disability, Social Security, Food Stamps, Medicaid or TANF.
WIC Benefits Package:
- Nutrition assessment and education for you and your children.
- Nutritious foods at no cost.
- Referrals for health care.
- Breastfeeding education and support.
- Immunization screening.
WIC Foods include:
- Milk
- Juice
- Cheese
- Eggs
- Dried Beans or Peas
- Cereal
- Peanut Butter
- Infant Cereal
- Infant Formula
- *Carrots
- *Tuna
*for exclusively breastfeeding women
WIC foods provide protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin C.
