General Information

Currently, the Electrical Bureau is a combination of four divisions that include: Electrical, Traffic, HVAC and Plumbing.

The following are the responsibilities of each division:

Electrical

Maintains and repairs all electrical systems throughout all City buildings and properties. This includes the replacement and maintenence of electrical devices, switches, lighting, balas, and electrical panels.  This division also installs new electrical circuits needed for office equipment, lighting, and circuits essential to traffic intersections.  The Electrical division works closely with the HVAC mechanics and traffic technicians.


Traffic

Maintains and repairs all City owned overhead lights and decorative light fixtures in parks, on the boardwalk and throughout the City streets.  The division also maintains, repairs and replaces any items needed at the 196 traffic intersections throughout the City when damaged.  Traffic technicians are responsible for assisting the electricians when needed.


Facilities

This division includes the City's HVAC and plumbing divisions. Both divisions handle the City's daily heating, air conditioning, and plumbing needs at all City owned properties.  These divisions also maintain water fountains and shower facilities along the boardwalk.  Another facilities responsibility is maintaining the comfort stations along the boardwalk, as well as the computer operated comfort systems and serving all six City fire houses HVAC and plumbing needs.
