The department's mission and responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of all City parks and playgrounds
• Tree trimming, removal and stump grinding
• Planting of flowers
• Marking softball, baseball, and football fields
• Pick up and delivery of items for City auctions
• Pre and post production of special events (i.e., show mobile, staging, sound system, tables, chairs, bleachers, trash cans, etc.)
• Snow removal and salting
• Assist with yard waste pickup
• Installation of Holiday lighting along Atlantic & Ventnor Avenues
• Maintenance, renovations, and repairs to all City owned buildings
• Maintenance and repairs to all City parks and playgrounds
• Painting of various City offices and buildings
• Board up vacant City owned buildings
• Assist City Engineer’s Office with contractors for various City projects
