This office is responsible for the enrollment and transferring of eligible employees to the Public Employees’ Pension System, to the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System, and to the Defined Contribution Retirement Program.

This office processes pension loan certificates for payroll deduction and coordinates with employees so they know the proper process for purchasing additional pension credit, changing beneficiary designations, and filing for retirement.

Employees are educated on the mandatory pension process. Employees are provided with the necessary forms according to their need, examples include; enrollment, designation of beneficiary, request to purchase service credit and retirement forms (regular service, deferred, disability). This office also handles certification of service and final salaries for retirees and those withdrawing from the pension system assuring correct accounting of employees’ contributions.

Routine duties of the office also include: quarterly report of contributions (ROC) for all bureaus; process and forward biweekly contributions for new DCRP retirement system (managed by Prudential); performing all adjustments and calculations of employee contributions to their pension, loan, life insurance, purchases, and deferred compensation accounts (S.A.C.T.); maintaining all record and files for all actively employed and retired members enrolled in a state pension system; completing transition forms for new retiree for retired health benefit coordinator; and completing spreadsheets for retro salary increases.
