The Sanitation Division’s purpose is to service all six wards of the City of Atlantic City and its residents with consist trash pick-up, bulk pick-up, cleaning up the streets and lots and cleaning storm drains as well as salting and snow removal of the city streets.

The Department is also responsible for maintaining grass and removing high weeds and making sure all building material and construction debris is disposed of properly. The Sanitation Division also provides toter receptacles to be delivered to city residents, churches and stores.

The Sanitation Division provides environmental services, such as, the collection and removal of garbage and debris, street cleaning, clearing of street drains, salting and plowing of snow covered streets.

The division’s mission and responsibilities include:

Trash collection in all six wards
Trash collection for the Board of Education
Storm drain maintenance and repair
Snow removal
Street cleaning of City owned streets
Lot cleaning and grass cutting
